The Winter Wife

This stage biography of gifted shortstory writer Katherine Mansfield is set in the tuberculosis sanitarium where she went with her devoted companion Ida Baker to regain her health over the winter of 192021. The play focuses on the relationship between these two ladies and on this important literary figures sensibilities as a writer and a woman while revealing harsh truths about her marriage to a writer and critic who treated her with selfish insensitivity.
