The book Crime Its Cause and Treatment by American attorney and social critic Clarence Darrow was originally published in 1922. The book is a collection of Darrows lectures and writings on many aspects of crime including its origins and possible solutions. Darrow argues that rather than individual moral failure or inherent evil crime is caused by society and economic problems including poverty inequality and a lack of education.
