Sam Liptzinalso known as Feter Shepsl Uncle Sam and Kvikzilber Quicksilverwas a selfproclaimed radical humorist. Born in Lipsk Belarus in 1893 Liptzin moved to the United States in 1909 and became active in leftist politics as an organizer speaker and writer. For much of his career he wrote a regular column in the Morgen Freiheitthe Yiddish Communist journal.
